European Football Association, Jubilee time capsule ceremony
Thursday, 2 September 2004
UEFA has buried a time capsule at its headquarters in Nyon, western
Switzerland, with instructions that the capsule be opened in 50
years' time.
The capsule, containing a wealth of contents, was sealed and interred
at a ceremony attended by UEFA Chief Executive Lars-Christer Olsson
and the mayor of Nyon, Alain-Valéry Poitry. The event was
the latest to celebrate UEFA's Golden Jubilee this year.
In 50 years, the people who open the capsule will find a variety
of fascinating items that will tell them about UEFA, European football
and activities in Nyon in 2004.
